Hi! I’m Jasper (he/him) and I’m a second year MA student in McGill’s English department. I’m from the UK/Germany and did my undergrad in Glasgow. My research is focused on the literary canon, postcolonial theory and the contemporary novel.
VIOLETTE DROUIN
Hi! I'm Violette (they/she) and I'm Caret's managing editor! I'm a second-year Master's student in the Department of English, researching ideas of place in Nova Scotian literature. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm usually knitting, cycling, or talking about knitting and cycling.
BRITTANY BUSCIO
Hello! I’m Brittany (she/her), a second-year MA student at McGill. My research focuses on nineteenth century American reception of Dante and his work. If I’m not reading, I’m probably putting together a flower arrangement or buying yet another plant for my apartment.
SAM FISCH
Hey there! I'm Sam (they/them), a first year MA student in the department of English at McGill. I've worked for 9 years as a medical technologist in a clinical setting, which informs my research interests in the medical humanities. I'm particularly concerned with looking at patient-doctor encounters in mid-20th century modernist fiction through the lenses of queer theory and trauma theory. I'm also obsessed with yoga, making lofi beats to study and relax to and all forms of poetry!
SHAKTI NIRMAL
Hey, I am Shakti (she/her)! I am pursuing Master’s in English at McGill. My research interests involve Women’s writing, African-American fiction, South Asian literature, and feminist theory. I am into films too! When I am not studying, I am drinking tea, hiking, watching movies or devouring cheesecake!
ANNABELLE KANG
Hello! I'm Annabelle, a second year MA student at McGill. My research interests include north-south Korea relations, Cold War studies, Marxism, affect theory, and geopolitics. I love poetry, music, and talking about theory! I'm looking forward to reading your work!

I’m Hannah (she/her), a second year MA student at McGill. My research interests include theatre and performance studies, especially history plays and documentary theatre.
EZGİ TÜLÜ
I'm Ezgi (she/her), a second year MA student at McGill! My research interests include science fiction and fantasy literatures, ecocriticism, and the contemporary novel. I'm particularly interested in what genre literature can tell us about the world we live in.
AAMNA RASHID
Hey, I’m Aamna (she/her) a second year MA student at McGill’s department of English. My research focuses on feminist politics, post-colonial studies and questions of identity and resistance. You’ll find me drawing or taking photographs somewhere on campus and talking for hours about art, film and theater (my excitement is truly unbound).
MAHIN SIDDIKI
Hi! My name is Mahin (she/her) and I am a first year MA student at McGill. My research interests gear towards contemporary fiction and the Gothic. I love reading fantasy and science-fiction in my down time. I am excited to be a part of Caret and look forward to peer-reviewing your work!
